FROM SYDNEY.
Auckland, Sunday. The s.s. Hero arrived at half-past four o'clock. She left Sydney on the 19th inst. The Latest. London, October 15. The ship Kingsbridge, to Sydney, collided with the Candaha for Melbourne, and foundered off the Lizard. Ten persons were drowned. The Candaha returned to Falmouth damaged. The Windsor Castle, from Sydney, put into Bahia under jurymasts, leaky. Arrived: Scimitar, from New Zealand. The Duchess of Edinburgh has been delivered of a son. '- Spain, October 15. Several Carlist battalions have surrendered. The Basque towns, considered the strongholds of Don Carlos, are demanding peace. Amkbica, October 15. American news states that the Democrats have been strengthened by the return of three of the party to Congress; two from Ohio, and one from Indiana.
