Two rats, fifteen days old, were ingrafted together, side by side, incisions being made in thjif skin of each, and a bandage being applied to keep the animals together. In six days the wounds had healed so effectually that the two rats had become one; and the union was hot merely outward, but extended even to circulation of the blood, for the pupils of the eyes of both rats were equally dilated by atrophine which had been introduced beneath, the ikin of one only. .
