QUEEN OF BEAUTY.
The enlargement of the engine shaft, it is eipected, will be completed by Monday, and -winding quartz from the 270 and 200 feet lerels will probably be resumed on Wednesday. When tho shaft is completed it will be one of the largest and most secure of any on the field, as no expense has been spared by the shareholders in purchasing the best of timber. The No. 2 lode has been followed to the City of London boundary, but this company will bo unablo for fourteen days to take up the driving, as there is a large quantity of quartz to be hoisted from the various passes and levels. The winding engine has been overhsoiled and made secure, as also the battery; and the money expended by the shareholders has evidently been well spent, and should be reproductive.
