Mr. Mooney delivered an excellent lecture on the benefits of the Government Life Insurance, to a good attendance, at the Coromandel Hall last night. The Green Harp general stuff is likely to go over 5 ounces to the ton. ' _ Tauhanga, This day. Owing to (he zealous and praiseworthy exertions of Messrs. A. Warbrick, C. O. Davis, and J. C. Young, the temperance movement amongst the Maoris is doing much, gocd in this district. Fielder, a settler of Opotiki, fell into the Otara river yesterday' and was drowned. An extended jurisdiction (£100) has : been given to the iiesident Magistrate; It is a great public boon. ■
