FUNERAL OF MR. A BEVERIDGE.

The funeral of the late Mr. A. Beve(ridge will take place in Auckland to- ) morrow afternoon. In order to accommo- ( date the residents of the "Thames who wish to be present, the A.S.P. Company will run-the Golden Crown for a special trip, leaving Tararu at 7 a.m. to-morrow morning and returning from Auckland in the evening; On Saturday night meetings of the Lodge of Light and Lodge Sir Walter Scott were held, at which it was decided to proceed to Auckland as lodges to take part in the funeral obsequies ofthedeceHsedbrother. Mr* Beveridpe was almost the feunder of the Lodge Sir Walter Scott—was its first master, and ever took an active and commendable interest in its welfare. He was also one of the first on the Thames i to take an interest in starting a lddge of I any Constitution, and formtd one of the band whose ultimate efforts resulted in the establishment of the Lodge of Lights For these reasons the deceased gentleman was held in deserved est«em, and numbers of memb^g of; both Constitutions, will most probably, go up from, the" Thames to be present \At the funeral. Arrangements in .progress injluckland, we learn, to give full Masonic honors to the burial of the deceased", and there is every probability of the funeral being a very large one. We believe that representatives of several friendly .societies, and a number of persons who belong to no order will proceed to Auckland to be present at the funeral.
