- Wellington, This day. Arrived: Euterpe, 124 days from London, with 410 emigrants, all well. Pout Chalmeks, Sunday. Arrived/last night, the ship, Otago, 83 days out from London, with 364 immigrants all well; the Columbus, barque, 87 days out from London, with 10 passengers. The ship Corona brought 496 immigrants.
Auckland, This day. The Caledonian Company's annual meeting was well attended. The report shewed that 4*821 tons of stone were crushed, yielding 4,760 ounces of gold. The total receipts were £17,086; cost of permanent works, £1,765; claim expenses, £7,574 ; battery, £2,239 ; Pumping Association, £4,000; directors' honorarium, £144; balance at Bank on the 31st July, £1,362. The report recommended the payment of £250 as directors' honorarium. The report was adopted. Mr. Stone was -re-elected a director. At the Gas Company meeting the report shewed the profit for the half year to be £1,143, and proposed to pay a dividend of six per cent for the half year. The , report was adopted, and Messrs. Earl and Wilson were re-elected directors.
