THE PUMPING ASSOCIATION.
The contract for a continuation of •inking the Pump shaft another hundred feet has been taken by Mr. Box, who has been in the Association's employ almost ever since the work commence'd. The price per foot has not transpired, but from the nature of the work a considerable ■um has no doubt been agreed upon. It is proposed, to try to sink with the aid of a 12 inch lift, which is now being prepared. The work of sinking will be resumed during next week. The chamber being cut at the bottom of Tookey's shaft will be finished; this week. There is at present no other work being carried on underground, the two main drives not being worked on.
