THE NONPAREIL.
The report of the Nonpareil mine was crowded out on Saturday. On visiting, the mine on Friday last I found that the progressive works were, being pushed rapidly ahead. In a drive being put in towards the Italian boundary a leader has been come across near the foot of the dri^e on 1 the right hand side. This leader is thought to be the .one that was sup-' posed to have been cut off by one of those mine nuisances—a clay slide. This slide seems to be dying out, and is now much broken and mixed up with floating sandstone boulders, so that there is every probability of the leades^ lately found continuing its course. I'saw some very nice golden stone that had come out of this leader. A winze is being sunk on another and different lode. The reef in the stopes is about two feet wide, and is expected to give a moderately good return. A large quantity of stuff has acoumulated in the paddock, which, I presume, will be shortly sent to the mill.
