■■ There is really nothing to report from these works other than that everything is going on smoothly, and that is rather stale news. The pump v keeps the water down at a little over three strokes per minute. Men are still employed in the Tookey cross-cut—the Tookey employees sinking to hole through. This will not be effected fora few days ; when it ia, it will be a tre.nt to go down the Pumping Association shaft and up Tookey's,vie.wing ( both mirie3, and, if I do hot make a mistake; without a wet. shirt or encountering bad air. If this is accomplished it will bea triumph in Thames mining engineering!; ; w '.-.....-:-
