Cokokakdel This day. The Tokatea and Union Brack continue, to get specimens. The Orange gathering last night was a complete success. The 13auk of .New Zealand today foiwarded 1600 ounces of gold to Auckland.
Wellington, This day. It is reported on good authority that the Government will propose to pension off Judges Arney and Chapman, and Dr. leatherstone.
Judge Ward will succeed Judge Chap, man, and Mr. Prendergast, Attorney General, will probably succeed Sir George Arner. Mr. Bussell will probably succeed Dr. Featherstone. ■
In consequence of the union between the Universities of Otago and New jZea- ' land the Government will propose to set free all endowments of the New Zealand . University for general educational purposes of a higher class than that of the common schools.
