THE CURE.
On visiting the above mine this morning, I found that the drive in which the black leader was cut, has been further driven in about 7ft. The foot-wall or whatever it may be, still continues; it is of a soft sandstone character. In driving the seven feet, two other small black leaders were cut, seemingly running.in front of a larger body of stone. This is Mr, Crawford's opinion, and I agree with him that such is the case. On the large black lode a drive has been opened out to test what the stone is like further in towards the Manukau ; its character so far is unchanged, showing eyery indicatioriofgold being in its neighborhood. The big reef is being driven across, as the mine manager thinks it possible that the shot of gold met with some time aince in the higher levels, may have run through. The reel? where the miners are working shows a little gold ; the rock is very crabholey, andj a portion of it partly crystalisecl.
