THAMES GOLDFIELDS HOSPITAL

The monthly meeting of the General Committee of the above institution was held in th« Salutation Hotel yesterday afternoon. Present: Mr Eowe (president) the Revs. V. Lush, Hill, Lonergan and Crump, with Messrs Kenshaw, Frater, Sims, McGullough, Gudgeon, Cox, McNab, Hudson, Tyler and Wilkinson.

The usual reports from the Treasurer^ Surgeon and Committee were received. The Treasurer's report showed a credit balance in the bank of £212 Is Id,

The applications for the offices in. the Hospital were then opend, and Mr Tyler proposed that Mark Fytton be appointed cook to the Hospital. Seconded and carried.

The only application received for the position of House Surgeon, was from Dr. liethbridge, who wai upon the motion of Mr. Gudgeon reflected, and Mr. A tken to that of dispenser, there being but one application. An application for the post of secretary and collector was received from Mr. Honiss, who was unanimously reelected, at a salary of £30, and 5 per cent, on all monies, other than Government sudsidies, and legacies not exceeding £10. The tenders for the supplies for the ensuing six months were then opened, and that of Messrs He win & Co. was accepted for groceries, there being but two sent in; Mr. Dalziel's being the lowest was accepted for meat; RolJerson and. Son for bread; Mr Grigg's for funerals; Mr Pufty's for milk; and .Mrs Snelgar's for washing. Messrs Tyler and Cox were elected to the House Committee in room of Messrs Wilkinson and Hudson, who retired-
