THE GOLDEN HILL.
Arrangements have been made by Messrs Hall and party to work from the Imperial City shaft towards the Golden Hill gro'undj and the party is driving at the 140 feet level towards the Manakau claim. Hnll and party arc driving north at present. They are working in a hard country, so hard that they can make but little progress. , Itjis expected that this bar will lastj about ten feet further in]; after that there is 130 feet of free working ground to<be r passed through: ■b.efore,-, the Manakau lode Will be striick.' It'is, Mowever, thought that there are payable veins of stone .between- the bar and the boundary. Somei years since' the"Golden Hill was one of our best gold yielding mines, and.it is possible that the payable veins, niay be picked, up again at a lower depth.'
