THE GOLDEN CALF.
The manager reports that the reefs in the mine hare a rery fair appearance. The lode at the deepest level still continues its broken and xnulloclcy nature, but with rather more quarts. Work below will be stopped for about four days as the shaft ji being repaired and put in thorough order preparatory to resuming sinking a further depth of 60 or 60 feet, either of these depths when attained will will give backs for blocking out both on the old Just in Time reef, and also that now being worked on, or the Golden Calf reef as it is termed. Ten head of stamps are employed at Webb's battery for this company, the amalgam is shewing up for a fair average return.
