THE CROWN PRINCE.
A nice parcel of-about sOlbs specimens came to hand during yesterday's shifts, and during this forenoon another smaller parcel was worked out of the winze being sunk, on the No. 2 reef. This winze is now down about 50 feet.' The level to be driven in from the shaft when it ii down to its proposed depth will give 70 feet of backs running a length of 250 feet by the winzes. An'engine has been parchased by this company in Auckland. It is a portable of 18-horse power, and is being overhauled by Messrs Masefield. Link gear is being attached to it, as also will be winding gear. Mr Vickery will have the superintendence of placing it in the position on the allotment leased by Crown Prince Company exactly opposite the new office of the Evening Star, the gold stone noted comes from exactly under it. The quantity of specimens on hand is one hundred weight, the new main shaft is down 28 ieet below the present level, and will soon be down to the required depth.
