ACADEMY OP MUSIC. The Magnet Troupe had a full house at the Academy last night to witness their performances in aid of the Ladies' Benevolent Society. The house was not tnore full than' the manner in which the different members of the troupe acted their parts deserved. The gymnastic feats were very good—so good that if a professional troupe were to come along this way they would not have much to brag about. The Magnet Company wilJ, no doubt, give another entertainment, when those who were not at the Academy last night should go and see. The performances on the flying trapeze and on the horizontal bar were cleverly performed. The young lady amateur danced very well, and was applauded. Mr McLiver contrived to keep his audience in a roar. Mr White sang well, and with great taste. "We were glad to se so good a house, and more especially so as several ladies were in the front seats to encourage the efforts the troupe were making to assist one of our quietly useful charities. The band of the IS avals must not be overlooked ; they rendered assistance by playing the audience in from the balcony of the Academy, and they played well too; but of all to be noticed the two little Hunters must bo specially praised : two wee lads went through not contortions, but gymnastic exercises that should be a lesson to the youth of the Thames.
