She sailed in the evening for Lyttelton, with . Wellington and Wanganui cargo aboard. The Katoa, to ship general cargo for Wellington and Auckland, is due today from Dunedin. She should sail the same evening for Lyttelton. The, Union Co. expect the Kahika on Monday from Oamaru, to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. The New Zealand Shipping Co. advise that the Hororata is scheduled to arrive on Monday from Lyttelton, to discharge a quantity of general cargo from London. The Opihi, tci ship general cargo for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth, is listed to call on Tuesday fiom the south’. A Press Association message from Wellington says:—An. -interesting arrival in port yesterday was the steamer Karpfanger, with case; oil from Port Arthur. Texas. The ..Karpfanger is the first German vessel to call at Wellington since 1914, and attracted considerable attention at Queen’s wharf. The ship was flying the German' merchantile ensign, ’ a flag with the dnee familiar stripes of blaolc. white and a rod small inset at the hoist of the colours of the German'Republic, red. black, and gold.
