DEMAND OF WOMEN’S COUNCIL. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Alarch 3. At the National Council of Women, a motion was moved that the Aiinister of Justice be asked to caution magistrates and newspaper proprietors against making public certain features of Court cases in regard to domestic tragedies, particularly those in which mothers in a state of mental unbalance attempt to murder tlicir children. After discussion, during which delegates praised the tone of tho New Zealand papers, the motion was amended to read that legislation should be passed to prohibit newspapers publishing the details referred to, and was carried.
