FLORAL PETE.

To the Editor of the “Timaru Herald.’* For a number of years past, a body of public-spirited men and women has given much time and labour towards raising funds for the improvement of ihe Paries of Timaru. The: Floral; Fete Committee has been wisely directed, and no small portion of the beautification of our parks is due to its efforts. The tea kiosk, which now serves g long-felt want, is a standing monument to the Committee’s activities. The Fete is to be held this year on March 5, and the proceeds are to be expended equally between the King Street Gardens, Ashbury Park and Oldway Park. I appeal to the citizens to support the committee, both by their presence and by participating in the decorative sections of the Fete.—l am etc., i ' GEO. J. WALLACE. " Mayor.
