Tho Imperial Cold Storage and Shipping Company lias issued tt lengthy statement refuting the detailed allegations of the Government Commission, the Commission holding the company responsible lor taint in eggs. The company’s statement declares that not a single word was said at any time during the 1925 egg season by the Government inspectors as to the supposed presence, on the company’s premises of fruit taint 01 ' any substance likely to injure oggs; turthei that all fruit that passed through the cool chambers of the Imperial Company during tile 1925 season was inspected daily while such export lasted, by a responsible Government lruit inspector. Tho Company offers to submit its history and affairs to a commission of any three South African Judges, confident in the knowledge that any inquiry so conducted would reveal the hollowness and fiiundncss of the charges cast so freely at tho Company, and its nianagemcrnt.
