MUSIC FOR THE FILM.
Dr. Strauss In London,
WHAT THE CRITICS SAY.
By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Australian anti N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 13, 7.10 p.m.) ' ■ LONDON, April 13. "■ Immense interest wqs taken in musical circles in Dr. Richard Strauss’ Appearance at London Tivoli, to conduct the hrst performance of the fdm opera, “Derrosen Kavnlier.” Long queues waited for admission from the early afternoon. The stalls were filled with celebrities, suggesting a first night at the Lyceum under the Irving management. Cinema critics are of opinion that a gracious melody conceals the mediocrity of file film, which is a sheer waste of good celluloid, especially ns the development of the story was slowed down in order to give the score of the music, which was also broadcast through Britain to-night.
