TIMARU LADIES’ CLUB. Tho annual match, president v. captain, will be played on the Hlghfleld Links to-day. All players wish-, ing to take part must be ready to start at 1.30, when partners will he drawn. After the match, the players will he entertained at tea by the president (Mrs AVebber), and the captain (Miss Pringle). The first bogey match will be played on Friday. Anyone unable to play must ring Mrs Minifie by 10 a.m. on Thursday. Third grade players must ring Miss Anstey. NORTH END CLUB. OFFICIAL OPENING. The North End Golf Chib opened the season on Saturday .iu ideal v.-catlier; and with one or the largest attendances on record for the duo. There would have been an even larger muster, only fo'r tho fact that the, crip to the Exhibition, and tho closing ior tlm.rtason of several of tho bowling clubs, were important couuier-nUrautioua. The times were in tirsC-class order, and played really well, end judging by the euttiusiftsm displayed on fcJacurciay afternoon, overyuung augurs v.eh lor a very successful season.
Tho prce-clcnt (Mr J. Menzies), in declaring tho season open, welcomed old and now members, and trusted that evuryone would derive the same amount of enjoyment as had been the case in the past. A mixed foursome occupied the attention of players during the tiftcrnoqn, and several good cards were handed in. s During the afternoon the president and his wife entertained. all present at afternoon tea.
