(From Our Own Correspondent). GOOD "FISHING. Anglers at the Waitaki have been meeting with groat success of late and during the week-end several good bag, of quinnat were taken. Mr H. Jackson’s bag for two days contained seven quinnat, the largest turning tho scale at 20lbs, and the smallest at 12Ibs \iiother fisherman, Mr J. Wall, of <\rnn, c-aught four quinnat, of a total weight of 661 bs, the largest being an IS-poundcr and tire smallest 141os. In addition he secured two trout, which weighed l-llbs and lolhs respective y. BISHOP OF CHRISTCHURCH. His Lordship the Bishop of Christ[•hcrch. Bishop West-Watson, motored to Waimate on Sunday morning, when he paid his first official visit to St, Augustine’s Church, and conducted the liinrning service, assisted by the vicar (Rev. Canon Cocks) and the lay readers. The church was filled to its capacity, e\’crv available scat being occupied. In an inspiring address on the Resurrection, the Bishop appealed to his hearers to follow Christ’s teaching ; after ■ the shedding of His blood for ’them thev should love all that was good, true and noble, and should set an .example' of unselfishness in tho Master’s work. SALVATION ARMY. Special services wore held at the Salvation Army Barracks during the week-end, when the heads of the organisation -in New Zealand, Commissioner and Mrs Hoggard, together with Majors Bear and Marshall, paid a visit to the local corps. There were good congregations at a'l services, and tho Mayor (Mr G. Dash) presided at the Saturday; evening service, when the Commissioner gave an address on the life of the founder of the Army, General Booth. At the service on Sundav afternoon the Deputy-Mayor (Mr V r . G. Paul) presided, and the subject of addresses by the Commissioner and Mrs Hoggard were the conditions existing in Korea, where the lecturers had previously laboured.
