CASUALTIES.
CAR TURNS SOMERSAULT. PASSENGERS’ MA RVELLOUS ESCAPE. . By Telegraph—Pr<vs Association HAMILTON, April 12. An accident, which by a miracle only was unattended by serious consequences, occurred about a mile from Cam bridge on the main Rotorua road yesterday. A party, consisting of Arthur Brett (Auckland), Harry Baulf (Hamilton), Air and Mrs AY. J. AVard, and A. D. Sayers (Cambridge), was proceeding outwards from tho latter place, when suddenly the wheels of tho ear struck a series of pot holes in tho road, which caused the ear to get out of control and turn a. complete somersault over a hank on tho side of the road. None of the party were seriously hurt, all escaping with shock and minor abrasions. The ear was very badly damaged ; 'the hood was ripped oil , tho front axle bent, and the steering wheel completely smashed. while tho body also was seriously dented. I’lie injured passengers are progressing well, hut will he confined to their homes for a few days. ACCIDENT TO LITTLE GIRL. Yesterday afternoon a little girl, daughter of Mr R. Haynes, of Old North Road, met, with an accident when cycling along Selwyn Street, near the bridge. There is a lot of loose shingle on the road, which lias no footpath, and another cyclist coming along a collision occurred. The little girl fell heavily on to the road ayul was so injured that she had to 1)0 carried to a near-by house where a medical man was sent lor to attend to her injuries.
