MEMORABLE GATHERING IN CANADA.

Two hundred officers of Canadian Forces who served under General Byng in the Great War, gave tangible expressions of affection for tlie former leader and now Governor-General of Canada, and Commander of the Canadians overseas in 1916-17, and Lady Byng of Vimy Ridge, at a dinner at Government House to-night, in the form of a seven-passenger 75 li.p Canadian-made limousine car to Lord Byng, and an oil portrait of hid. Excellency to Lady Byng. The presentation ivas made on behalf of the officers, by Sir Arthur Currie (president of the McGill University, Montreal) who succeeded Lord Byng as Commander of the (^irps. The dinner was one of the most memorable functions ever held at Government House. It was the ninth anniversary of the capture of Rimy Ridge by tlie Canadians.
