WEDDINGS.
DILLICAR —BOLDEN. A very pretty wedding took place at Chalmers Church on Monday, March 29th,, when Edith Sylvia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. Bolden, Cain Street, was married to William Henry, second son of Mrs and the late Mr J. H. Dillicar, ‘of Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory Swiss satin and georgette, finished with pearl trimmings, and orange blossoms. She wore an exquisite old lace veil which was held in place by tiny sprays of orange blossom, and carried a bouquet of hothouse llowers. Aliss Alma Bolden attended her sister as bridesmaid. She wore a pretty frock of torquoise blue brocaded satin, with pink georgette posies with veil and bouquet to tone. Mr E. Newton was best man.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the Wentworth Tea Rooms, the bride’s mother receiving the guests wearing a handsome frock of navy silk marocain. Later when the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon, the former travelled in a rosewood ensemble suit and becoming hat of panne velvet.
Their future home will be in Wellington.
LECREN—MACDONALD.
A very quiet wedding was solemnised at St. Alban’s Church, Pleasant Point, on Wednesday morning, when Alison, only child of Air and Airs Duncan Alacdonald, Waitohi, and formerly of Waipukurau ,was married by tho Rev. D. K. AlacPiierson to Henry LeCren, “Craighleigh,” Fairiie, only son of Air and All's Herbert LeCren, Alornington, Dunedin. The church was beautifully decorated with lilies and autumn foliage. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory pleated georgette. Her lovely veil, which had belonged to her greatgrandmother, was held in place, with, touches of orange blossom, and she carried a boquet of pink roses. Miss Olga, Carlyle, Waipukurau, tho only bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of pink georgette, with overdress of shot silver and pink tissue and lace. She wore a bandeau of silver leaves, and carried a sheaf of gladioli to tone. Mr E. Vavasour was best man.
After tho ceremony, a reception was held at Waitohi, only immediate relatives being present. Airs Alacdonald, tho bride’s mother, wore a handsome frock of black and royal blue crepe do chine, and a black picture hat, with ospreys; Airs Herbert LeCren, a becoming frock of black silk marocain, trimmed black chenille lace, and smart tricorne hat, with ribbon mount; Aliss Leslie LeCren, black repp coat frock, with Eastern embroidery, small hat, with upturned brim to match. Air and Mrs Henry LeCren left by car on their wedding trip, the bride wearing a saxe blue, three-piece suit, and hat to match. O’Af ALLEY—AIcKENDRY.
Tho kindly interest of many Waimate friends centred in the wedding celebrated 0)1 Tuesday morning, April 6th, at St. Patrick’s Church, Waimatc, of Kathleen Marie, third daughter of Mr and Airs Denis AlcKendry, Kolmar, Lyndliurst, and Ernest Clement, eldest son of Air and Airs E. A. O’lVlalley, Wailiao Forks, Waimate. Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Knight, who also celebrated the nuptial Mass. Appropriate music was rendered by Aliss Madge O’Alalley. The bride was escorted by her brother, Air John AlcKendry, who subsequently gave her away, and was attired in palo apricot crepe do chine, made on simple lines. Her veil, which was worked by an old school friend, was embroidered in each coiner with true lovers’ knots, and was arranged in mop cap style, enriched with a band of silver tissue, whilst clusters of orange blossom nestled at each side. A shower bouquet of white hot-house flowers completed a charming toilet. She was attended by her sister, Aliss Mollin AlcKendry, as bridesmaid, in a frock of white crepo do chine, with veil of lace and a shower bouquet of varegated flowers. Albert Hayden O’Alalley attended his brother as best man. After the ctrcmony, the guests were entertained at the residence of the bridegroom’s parents, tho bride .s motliei wearing a smart ensemble suit of nav} blue, a hat of navy and silver marocain. and bouquet of crimson roses. When leaving for tho wedding tour, tho bride wore a navy ensemble suit, with vest of oriental patterned marocain, and a liut of black vclom.
