CHINESE GAMING HOUSE. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 9. Yo Kun, a Chinese, aged (JO, was charged with keeping a common gaming house. Counsel declared that he was only the occupier, and the business was run by a big ring, which did not appear. Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M., fined him £3O or six weeks. Frederick Durham was fined £2 for being on Yo Kun’s premises. DRUNK IN CAR. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 9. WELLINGTON, This Day. Frederick Herring was fined £lO for being drunk in ,a car. Ho was described as practically a teetotaller who had been drinking with some country friends. As it was his first offence the license was not endorsed. Accused had run into and injured a pedestrian. ALLEGED MANSLAUGHTER.

For not producing his license, accused was lined 5s and costs. A charge of being intoxicated while in charge of a motor car was dismissed.
