DISASTER ON MISSISSIPPI

By Cable —Press Association—Copyright Reutor’a Telegrams (Received April 9, 7.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 8. The New Orleans authorities have been notified that an oil tanker, name undetermined, exploded on Thursday night in the Mississippi river,, twenty miles below here. Several moil were believed to have been killed, and a large number were rescued from the river, the water of which was covered with burning petroleum. One report said that the captain and pilot of the vessel were known fo be killed and that 35 men missing; fifteen of tho crew rescued.
