HIGH SCHOOL OLD GIRLS.
ANNUAL MEETING. Tile annual meeting of the Timaru High School Old Girls’ Association was held in the Y.M.C.A. The president (Mrs J. G. Duncan) was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The annual report and. balance sheet were presented. Tho report stated that the outstanding feature of last year’s activities was the holding of tho first re-union dinner, on the 28th May, in the Stafford tea rooms. About 10U girls .wero present, and tho function was so successful that the committee decided to make tho dinner an annual one. Tho annual ball was held in the -Bay Hall on August 20th, and was very successful, tho chi lice committee handing over a balance of £9 1/s lOd. This year the Association lost the, services of its first president, Mrs W. Raymond, and at a mooting on the 12th October, the girls showed their appreciation of her services by presenting her with a brass afternoon tea, trav. Mrs Raymond still takes a very keen interest in all the activities of the 'Association. A very 'successful concert, arranged by Miss Fouug. ' v . given in the Wesley Hall, and a enko stall was held, as usual at the> G ils High School bazaar. i'rom the proceeds, a cheque for Ynah to Miss Barr towards tho Gills J.ngu Schoofprize fund A ™V U Tthc "Olfl fiirl’s Day” was held _ at tlie school mi /March 13, when Miss Barr and tho present girls ento tanmd past pupils. It was hoped that tins wouiu become a regular function.
