" The First shot in the State election campaign was fired at -Toowoomba, when the leader of the Country and National Progressive Party delivered a policy speech. Mr Moore said,,.the people of Queensland had suffered a humiliating experience during the recent railway strike, as the authorities did not lift a finger to uphold the laws of State. The law-breakers were encouraged, and no intolerable did the State affairs become, that the citizens were compelled to protect their own rights. The whole affair was a travesty on constitutional government under which Queensland ’suffered for the past ten years. The elections will be held on May 8.
