CALCUTTA RIOTS.

The gradual return to normal conditions in Calcutta was. interrupted by nu attempt by some 400 Mahoniinedan boatmen, wlio attacked a ponce outpost at Eden Gardens. Alter tile police had been subjected for some time to a rain ot missiles, reinforcements drove off tho assailants, .with revolver lire, lulling one and wounding lour. The police authorities utato that all is quiet throughout the city. Buses and trams are running normally, and the business iile ol tlie city is injull swing. The military, however, has not yet withdrawn from the .streets.
