BIBLE CLASS CAMP. Glorious weather favoured the sports meeting of tho Baptist Young Men’s Bible Classes, who . are holding their annual camp at Temuka, and tho various events provided a good, deal of interest to a fair number of spectators. Competition, was keen amongst the young men,'who have created a fine impression amongst tho townspeople, and the prowess of tho contestants was worthy of note. Tho following arc tho results: —
Juiiior running events.—loo yards : Smith 1, Weston. 2, Norrish and Shave (equal) 3; time, 11 2-ssec. 220 yards: Drew 1, Smith 2, Bartlett 3. Relay race: Hanover Street (Dunedin) 1, Colombo Street (Christchurch) 2, Caversham 3. One mile: Drew 1, Holmes 2, Weston 3. Other events— Half mile walk: Weston 1, Drew 2, Shave 3. High jump: Weston 1, Drew 2, Shave and Smith (equal) 3. Long jump: Smith 1, Swallow- 2, Shave 3; distance, 16ft Throwing cricket ball: Smith 1, Drew 2, Ashden 3. Senior running events.—loo yards : Harrington 1, Ockwell 2, Smith 3; time, 10 2-ssec. 220 yards: Ockwell 1, Harrington 2, Smith 3. 440 yards: Harrington, Ockwell and Smith tied for first place. Half mile: Barnett 1, Ockwell 2, Smith 3. Relay, race: South Dunedin 1,- „Roslyn 2, Hanover Street (Dunedin) 3. . One mile: Adams 1, Bird 2, Trotman 3. Other events —Half mile walk: -Barnett 1, Ockwell 2, Trotman 3. High jump : Trotman 1, Oekw-ell 2, ambert 3. Long jump: Swallow 1, OckwelL 2, Ashdem 3 Throwing cricket ball: Barnett 1, Dixon 2, Gibson 3. Tho Winner of the prepared, speech contest was 'Mr W. Lambert, of Dunedin, ' his subject' being: “The World’s Greatest. Need.”. At the annual meeting, the following officials were appointed for the ensuing year President, Rev. E. Evans; vicepresidents, Messrs Lambert ' and Schroeder; secretary and treasurer, Milan Armour; executive, Messrs G. Hendry and IV. Barnes (Dunedin), Rev PI. Goring (Tirnaru), and Mr S. T Barnett (Christchurch) ;• Mission Fund collector, Mr S. T. Barnett. The camp broke up yesterday, and the visitors were enthusiastic over tho fine time they had spent in Temuka.
