THREAT OF COAL STRIKE.
Unrest In New South 1 Wales. - COMMISSION'S AWARD REJECTED. By Cable—Press Association —OopyrlcM, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 6, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, April G. A meeting of the Newcastle Branch of the Engine-Drivers’ and Firemen’s Federation, discussed their grievances, and expressed dissatisfaction at the award granted the Coal Commission. It was decided to recommend at the two aggregate meetings to be held on the coalfields, that fourteen days’ notice be given of their intention to strike.
Intention was expressed at tho meeting that the men were going to attempt to stop all work on the whole of the coalfields of the State. A meeting at the Maitland field carried a similar motion.
