Some of the delegates at the conference of the Independent Labour Party, asked colleague Lady Synthia Mosley, if it were true that she was giving up her title. Lady Cynthia’ replied: “I would like to, hut I cannot. I have been called it all my life. People will continue to do so.”
As if to prove otherwise, many delegates persisted in calling her Comrade Cynthia.
Her husband, Mr Oswald Mosley, (old an interviewer, that if ever his father's baronetcy came his way, lie would certainly take steps to relinquish it.
