Instead, the Vatican is supporting flic Union of Austria with Germany, dins would add four million Roman Catholic Austrians to Germany, making tlie Roman Catholic population of Germany -1/5 per cent., which it is believed would he sufficient, with the aid of one other Party to give the Catholics political dominance in Germany. Austria is at present in very .serious plight with 300,000 dole drawing unemployed, out of a total of G,000,000. Austria, is being throttled by fantastic- prohibitive duties of Czecho-Slovakia, Poland and Jugo-Slavin. Ninety per cent, of (be Austrians regard the Union with Germany as the only hope oi salvation from slrangulation and ruin.”
