With three wickots down for 195 runs, Hawke’s Bay to-day , resumed their first innings in the match against Manawatu, and by the time the sixth wicket fell the total had reached 484, being a lead of 208 over the visitors. The most successful batsmen were Lorry 119 not -oqt, C. Beath 102 not out, Stevenson 84, Renney 49, Owen 44. The innings was then declared. Bowling: Hope 2 for 159, Black 2 for 92. Gallichan 2 for 129. Manawatu, in tlieir second effort, compiled only 157, the chief scorers being : Hope 56, Gal’iclian 23. Bowling : Mitchell 6 for 60, Temperton 2 for 88, Patterson 1 for 21.
