Cub’s annual gathering at Temuka yesterday, and there was a very large attendance. The oval was in excellent condition tor riinnino’, and the cycling track was also in 'first-class order. The entries in the running and cycling section were much more numerous than usual, and some of the best wheelmen in New Zealand were competing, consequently the officials’ anticination of a big gate uas ful’v realised, the admission receipt:', amounting to £l4O. A special train from Timaru took out a very large number of spectators, and the oidinai.y trains had their full quota. _ Amongst the.visitors, from kindred societies verc Messrs'. J. Kennedy and G. Patrick

(Geraldine St. Patrick’s Sports Club), j Messrs H. MclJrea and J. Henderson (Ashburton), and Air James Crombic (Christchurch!, a former president of the Temuka Club. The arrangements left no room for improvement, and were the result of long experience and well-directed efforts of tho officials. Numerous . side-shows ; added to the gaiety and general , interest, and the Tenuika Pipe Band, under Pipe Alajor Cargo, provided all that could be desired in the why of music at such a gathering. The luncheon and afternoon tea arrangements were carried out satisfactoryv bv Air D. J. Chapman and staff. Air D. O’Connor was chief executive officer —a position which he filled to the satisfaction of everyone, and he and the president , (Air J.. K. Young), and all the officials earned the hearty congratulations of all, on the marked succccss which was achieved.
