CHRISTCHURCH EASTER TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, April 5 Though the sky was overcast and the air chilly, scores "of entrants in the Canterbury Lawn Tennis A-sociation s annual provincial Easter championship tournament played on the AA ilding Park, J/'nwcocl, and Opawa courts on Saturday. It was the first day of the tourney and play commenced on each ol the three court- at 8.80. in. the morning. Good progress was made in every event, and if weather holds the tournament will finish to-morrow. The standard of the play on Saturday was up to the usual tournanient -standard most of the games being keenly contested. Early in the afternoon a strong wind blew up from tlie southwest."but It food dropped, and for the remainder of the day' a cold snip was in the air and blazers; coats, and woollen jumpers were worn.
