FIRES.
SEASIDE COTTAGES DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Pros* Association. DUNEDIN, March 31. Thrco cottages at Karitane seaside resort on the north line from Dunedin were destroyed by lire this morning. The buildings were owned by Messrs Manchester (Waimate), J. Hope (Dnncdin), mid Gould (l)unedin). The fire started at about 10.30 a.m. in Mr Manchester’s house, and a southerly wind fanned tlie flames in the direction of Hope’s and Gould’s cottages, which were soon ablaze. Good work was done by workmen of the Olilgo Rower Board, who saved another cottage from destruction. Tho contents of the three cottages were completely burned. No particulars of insurances are available.
