PEEL FOREST RESERVE.

To tlic Editor of the. “Timaru Herald.” Pi r —| read in Thursday's issue of ‘•‘The'Timaru Herald” where the chairman of the Peel- Forest Scenic Board was appealing to the County Councils and Borough Councils of South Canterbury for funds to buy a piece of private bus'll at Reel Forest, to add to the; Scenic Reserve. 1 am sure it will meet with good support front the public. I am quite willing to give a donation

myself, and a gentleman 1 was speaking to on Sunday is prepared to support, the fund. By what I have seen the Reserve is one of, if not the best, holiday resorts in Canterbury. I think'instead of the Geraldine County Council giving a donation, they could improve on the roads that lead to the Scenic'. Reserve, and they would ho doing more than their share. —I am. etc., SHACKAY.
