ANOTHER COAL CRISIS.
STOPPAGE THREATENED AT NEWCASTLE. By Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 30, 11.5 p.m.) SYDNEV, March 30. The colliery engine-drivers on the Newcastle coalfield have sent an' ultimatum to the proprietors that if the latter do not grant a conference within seven days, to discuss a number of the men’s grievances, they will cease work.
This means a general stoppage of all collieries in the State, involving thousands of employees.
