CJOLF CLUB. I For the opening day, Saturday last, tho Golf Club was favoured with beautiful weather. Besides a large number of members, there were visitors from Temuka. and Dunedin. The links were in splendid order, and the greens committee arc to be congratulated 'oil the attention given the course, i A mixed foursome match, with sides representing the president (Captain C. J. Kerri and the captain Olr B. G. Withers) was played, and resulted in a draw. Afternoon tea was provided , by Mrs C. J. Kerr. Afiss.de Lambert; Airs Christophers v. Aliss Rattray. FOOTBALL CLUB. The annual meeting of the Geraldine Football Club was held in Air Kennedy’s rooms. There was a 'urge attendance of players. , Air Kennedy (president), was in the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were presented, showing that the club had a very successful year. Junior, fourth, and fifth grade teams were entered in the competitions, and acquitted themselves well, the junior team being runners-up in their grade. The total receipts for the year were £GG 4s fid, made ur> of: Donations £lB, subscriptions £*m collections £24. The expenditure showed payment for grounds £lO, Rugby Union fees and insurance £lO, jerseys, entry, fees, goal posts, repairs, etc., £4O; leaving a credit balance of £1 18s.
The president moved the adoption of • the report and balance sheet, and congratulated the cluh on the successful year just passed. The committee had liquidated the debit balance from the previous year. As he was retiring from office this year, he hoped they would continue their interest in the game and have a good year’s football. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Air T. D. It was decided to forward a letter of thanks to Bey. Air Sharp and • Air R. Duncan for .their valuable assistance to the club. A vote of thanks to Lhe retiring president; and for the use of the room, concluded a very enthusiastic meeting. “SALLY OF.THE CIRCUS.” The great comedy, “Sally of tho Sawdust,’’ a United. And never has ho made a more entertaining work than is “Sally of the Sawdust.” Laughter bubbles throughout. It begins to rollick gaily about tbe circus tent where the great Prof. Aft-Gargle, juggler and rogue extraordinary, is about his merry affairs, attended by his ward, Sally, as audacious and loyal a companion as is given to man. It thrives when the circus goes broke, and Sally and tho Professor board the blind baggage to got .to the carnival town where the great drama awaits Sally. And it hursts into fullest spray near the close when AlcGargle mounts, without permission, the steering scat of a Ford car, in the maddest, funniest race that has greeted the screen in v cars.
