PRESBYTERIAN CHILDREN’S HOME.

GARDEN PARTY. The annual garden party in connection with the Presbyterian Children's Home was held on Saturday afternoon. The Women's Auxiliary undertook the raising of funds for the enlarging of the miii room as a place of play for the children during the winter and in stormy weather. The Auxiliary had a considerable sum already in hand, and to this about £'GO would be added as the result of the garden party. There was a- good attendance of friends of the Home. The various ■stalls were erected in the grounds, and afternoon tea. was dispensed in a large marquee. Throughout the afternoon Air De Lautour’s orchestra discoursed sweet music. The following were in charge of the various departments:—Work, Airs Eraser, Airs Pyke, All's Taylor; produce and flowers, A!i> Renton, Mrs N. Campbell, Aliss Lilair; cakes, Airs Byers, Airs Waddell, Airs Smith ; sweets. Airs C. Cameron, Airs Currie, All's Bogg; tea. tent. Aliss Pearson, Airs Grant, AJrs Robertson; croquet competition. Airs \\ . Thomas, Airs Buxton, Airs W. D. Campbell; gull putting, Alcssrs Scott and Glelaiid; other "nines and competitions, Alcssrs C Cameron, J. A. Norrie, D. Thomson. .1. Tn voucr, J. Boyd, E.
