AIEETING OF COUNCIL. The monthly meeting of the AV.E.A. Council ivas held on Saturday. Present: Mr J. Emslie (chairman), Airs Loiv, Alessrs Patterson, Roller, Griffiths, Jones, McNab, AA’atson, Millar (tutor). ' .. Correspondence ivas red from the Technical School Board re affiliation to AV.E.A. From the Labour Party reneiving affiliation, and appointing Mr Jones as delegate. , , The chairman, on behalf of the Council, extended a cordial ivelcome to Mr Jones. From Air Manning, organising secretary, stating that he ivas unahle to be in Timaru at the time suggested. Air Millar (tutor), reported the progress of the sub-committee re opening rally, and stated that it ivould not be possible for Professor Shelley to be present. Mr Manning is to be informed of the proposals, and invited to take part in the opening rally on April 10th - „ J Various suggestions ivere offered for an attractive programme for the opening night. It ivas ultimately'resolved that it be a recommendation to the programme committee that Air Howard", AI.P., for Christchurch South, be invited to be present, he being one of the pioneers in the AV.E.A. movement. The chairman reported that the lease of the premises ivould expire on Alarch 31st. It ivas moved by Mr Griffiths, and seconded by Air Jones, that application be made to the Council for extension of lease to the end of the present year.—Carried. Accounts, amounting to £5 ss, ivere passed for payment.
