AY hen the steamer Gnrthcasile, bound for Capetown, was approaching the anchorage at Ascension Island, she struck a rock heavily. As there were no facilities for repair within 2000 miles, the vessel, with -HB passengers and crew, will have to wait till a relief steamer arrives from London.
