' RUGBY UNION. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEET.
A meeting of the management committee of the South Canterbury Rugby Union was held in Oxford Biukhiigs on Wednesday. Present, , T Fraser (chairman), J. Tluney, Eraser, Geo Eairbrother, S. Williams, D. Hertnoii, and J. V- Mckeaguo (secretary), . . , The Ashburton Sub-union wrote that they intended making application at the annual meeting lor direct .affiliation to the N.Z.R.U., and asking if the South Canterbury Union would support their proposal. Jt was decided to support the Ashburton Union in their proposal for separate affiliation.. The New Zealand Rugby Union forwarded amendments to tlie conditions for the D. L. Taylor C up. It. was decided to forward .a copy to the Schools Sports Association. The New Zealand Union further advised with regard to a. loan of £SOO towards the cost of a grandstand, asking for a draft of further charge to be entered on the present mortgage. Referred to Union’s solicitors. Tlie School Sports Association wrote forwarding suggestions for the D. L. Tavlor Cup competition. The secretary was instructed to make application for the use of Anzac Square and Ashbury Park during the coming season. Tlie question of alterations to the old stand was discussed, and it was loft in Mr Hertnon’s hands to submit asketch of alterations required, and an estimate of the cost of same. The secretary read the draft copy of the annual report and balance sheet, and with minor alterations this was ordered to be printed. Tho chairman said that the annual meeting of delegates had been called for .Wednesday, March 31.
