i LARGE ENTRY AND GOOD SALE.

Asso- | ciation, was held on the Association’s i grounds at Waimataitai yesterday, and ! there was a large attendance of far- : mers and station owners, who took a i keen interest in the sale. I The arrangements fully met all reI quirements, and this year’s fa.r seemed j to be more popular with breeders than ! usual. The demand was strongest for English Le.'cesters, flock rains of this breed bringing up to logins. I lie keenness which breeders showed lor English Leicesters was attributed to the tact that lambs of this breed are most suitable for the small-carcase lamb now demanded by the British consumer. The tone of tiie sale was quite good, and there were comparatively few passings. In flock rams Onrr.edales sold up to Bgns, English Leicesters up to 15gns, Bonier Leicesters up to "Kyis, Southclowns up to Ili.uis, Shropshire's up to ojgns, Romneys up to llgns, and unregistered (Southdown —Border Leicester cross) up to 7gns. The top price of the sa’e was 36gns, obtained for a one-shear B.L. ram bred by MeKeroher Bros., Ala AV.-iro. This went to an Otago buyer. Southdown studs sold up to llgns. The sale started at noun, and the catalogue of 1238 sheep was got through about 5 p.in. Details of sales made are as follows:
