THE CHURCHES.
The morning service in Trinity Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. T. W. Potts, and the evening service by the Rev. T. Stinson. Harvest services will be held in the Kensington Methodist Church to-morrow. The preachers are—morning, Rev. H. J. Odell; evening, Rev. R. Richards. There will be special singing by the choir. Harvest thanksgiving services will be held in the Congregational Church on Sunday. The morning service will he conducted by the Rev. T. Stinson, and the evening service by the Rev. T. W. Potts. A sale of produce and fruit will be held on Monday evening. Services will he conducted by Rev., A. Begg at High field and Rosewill tomorrow, The monthly choir service will be held in the evening, when Alexander’s hymns will be used. The soloist will he Miss L. Russell, and Messrs R. S. and A. Nicol will sing a duet. The services at the Baptist Church will be conducted by the Rev. H. G. Goring. The morning subject will he “Christ’s Debt to Women.” At the close a memorial to the late Mrs Marsden will he dedicated. In the evening a service of song entitled “Passion AVeek,” will be given under the baton of Mr A. C. McInnes.
Harvest thanksgiving services will be conducted in Chalmers Church by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. The subjects will be “Ministering God’s Gift” and “Long Distance A 7 ision.” There will he an organ prelude at 6.30 p.m. On Sunday, April 4th, and during the winter months, the evening service will commence at 6.30. At Bank Street Methodist Church to-morrow morning, Rev. C. C. Hoskin will preach, also at tile evening service. Two short hearty addresses will be given by Rev. A. C. Lawry and Mr Cyril Burton, travelling secretary of the Young Men’s Bible Class Union. Harvest services will be held at 'Woodlands Street, where the preachers will be Mr C. Burton and Rev. H. J. Odell; and at Kensington, where Rev. H. J. Odell will preach in the morning, and Rev. R. Richards, of Temuka, in the evening. This Sunday, Major and Mrs Bear, from Christchurch, will conduct the harvest thanksgiving services in the
Salvation Army Citadel. Special singing will be rendered by the Songsters, and the Bandsmen’s Glee Part y. The Citadel is very prettily decorated with flowers and fruit. Over the platform is a white trellis arch covered with climbing roses and grapes. Major Bear is a very capable and forceful speaker. A hearty invitation is extended to working men to 'be present.
