TIM All U LADIES’ CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. 'i 'l'llo annual meeting of the 'J iniavn r,allies’ Golf Club was held last evening, when -Mrs Rcvell presided over a large attendance. ’Tile annual report stated that tho club had had an exceptionally good vear, both from the viewpoint of membership and of play. Tho membership increased from 158 to 184. Seven matches had been played, five of which were won and two lost. The niatches plaved were: —Pleasant Point, 1< airlie, Shirley, North End, Waimatc, Oamaru and Ashburton. The Club challenged “Avondale” for the Boyle Cup, and the match was played oil July lltli, resulting in a win for Tunaru by -If games to 14* The club championship was won by Miss Heltslctt, the junior bv Miss McLean, and tho third grade by Mrs Aitken. The first open lournamont inaugurated by the cluo was held on August 22nd, and the three following days. The meeting was a oreat success, which should warrant its continuance. The committee wished to congratulate Miss Pringle on winning the South Canterbury championship. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Ladies Golf Union, ,hc Tiniaru Ladies’ Club was granted metropolitan status A, special committee, assisted by Mr G. B. louest, had been appointed to lengthen tho holes to the required distance Metropolitan status entitles the club a vice-president and three dele ates . the annual meeting of _ the New Zealand Ladies’ Golf Union. The club’s delegate (Mrs Kerr) would report on the work done at the last annual meeting. The committee sugrrested that each member should lead Cotterill Tor his services as auditor.
