SADLY NEGLECTED.

GRAVE OF WAR HERO. By Cable—-Fross Association—Copyright. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON, March 23. The “Daily Chronicle” says: “In the quiet village of Ripple (Kent) is an insignificant grass-covered mound, surmounted by a few withered leafless twigs, sadly neglected. The spot is no other than the grave of Lord French of Ypres, the Commander of the ‘Conteniptibles.’ ” The “Chronicle” points out that hundreds visit the churchyard weekly, yet are unable to find the grave without the aid of the sexton, and recalls that the funeral was attended by great crowds of civilians and military representatives. Now a few feet of turf, sinking at the end, is the only indication of tiro resting place of one of Britain’s greatest warriors.
